Our Mission
Our mission is to help our clients to identify their personal goals for change and facilitate that change in a supportive, nonjudgemental environment.
Waite Psychological and Therapeutic Services is a mental health practice in Durham, NC. We work with families, couples, and individuals to provide psychological and counseling services with a culturally competent, trauma-informed approach.
Our goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment that allows clients to process and heal from past trauma, learn coping skills to improve quality of life and increase functioning in relationships.
If you are a black woman, we are here for you (and everyone else but black women is our specialty). If you are a black woman who struggles with vulnerability, allowing others to help you, feeling confined by the “angry black woman” stereotype, or you just feel like you are drowning and everyone around you keeps talking about how strong you are, we are the place for you.

Who We Serve
At Waite PTS, we work with children and their parents, adolescents, adults, women, couples, and families. We work with a diverse population but specialize in people of color.
When working with children and their parents, we aim to help parents to improve their child’s behavior, social skills, and confidence. We partner with parents to examine their current parenting style and make changes utilizing a behavioral approach to enhance the parent-child relationship and increase parenting satisfaction.
When working with couples, families, and blended families, we focus on increasing healthy communication, defining relationship roles, and creating strong bonds and appropriate boundaries. We work with young adults and adults experiencing transitions in life, anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
What We Do

Specializing in ADHD, life transitions, anxiety, parenting support, and perinatal/postpartum support

Find community with others that are in a similar space while having access to therapy to help you feel better
Yoga, Mindfulness & Meditation
Learn a variety of self regulation and self awareness skills leading to increased self esteem and reduced stress

Evaluations to help find answers and provide recommendation that can help improve you or your child's success in life
